Universal Orlando is turning the late Ozzy Osbourne into a haunted house. Announced on 29 July, Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness will run at this year's Halloween Horror Nights inside Universal Studios Florida, opening on Friday 28 August and playing select nights through 1 November.
Built with the Osbourne family as an unconventional memorial to the singer, the Orlando walk-through leads guests through ancient ruins and a dungeon before they board the Crazy Train, set to a soundtrack of his solo hits.
What's inside the Ozzy Osbourne house at Universal Orlando?
The Orlando house opens in ancient ruins and shadowy dungeons before leading you aboard the Crazy Train itself. Ozzy's solo music plays throughout, starting with "Crazy Train" and moving through a back catalogue that spans all 13 of his solo albums. Universal says the house is filled with small references and Easter eggs for fans to spot. The route differs from the Hollywood version, which travels decade by decade through his career instead.
Why is there an Ozzy Osbourne haunted house at Halloween Horror Nights?
Ozzy died just over a year ago, 17 days after a final performance with Black Sabbath in his home city of Birmingham. Universal worked with the Osbourne family on the house, which it describes as a walk-through horror world and an unconventional memorial rather than a standard scare attraction. His widow Sharon and son Jack backed the project, saying it reflects the music and imagination he was known for.
